Who we are
VideoCallAPI provides a video and audio calling API to businesses ("customers"). Customers build calls into their own apps; their end users join those calls.
Data we collect
- Account data: the name, email address, company and password hash of people who sign up for the console.
- Contact requests: the details you send through our contact form.
- Call data: room and session identifiers, participant names and IDs supplied by the customer's app, join and leave times, IP addresses and connection quality statistics.
- Call media and recordings: audio and video pass through our servers to reach other participants. Calls are recorded only when the customer enables recording.
How we use it
To provide and secure the service, meter usage and bill customers, provide support, and reply to enquiries. We don't sell personal data and we don't use call content for advertising or to train models.
Customers' end users
For calls in a customer's app, the customer is the data controller and we process data on their behalf. The customer is responsible for informing its users, including about recording, and for obtaining any consent required. Please contact the app provider about your data; we'll help them respond.
Retention
Recordings are kept until the customer deletes them or for the retention period agreed with the customer. Call metadata is kept for as long as needed for billing and support. Account data is deleted within 30 days of closing an account, except where we must keep records by law.
Security
Media is encrypted in transit (DTLS-SRTP, and TLS for signalling and TURN). Recordings are stored in access-controlled storage, and download links are signed and expire.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data by emailing privacy@videocallapi.com.
Cookies
This website doesn't use tracking cookies. The console uses one essential session cookie to keep you signed in.
